House Sitter

It is always a comfort to know someone is taking care of things whenever we heve to be away. We generally have a house sitter, but this time we opted to 'let' a good neighbor who is retired watch over things. Chipper loves him, so he was happy (at least he said he was) to check on her and keep an eye on the house. He even drove us to the airport very early in the morning. It was great knowing a close neighbor was in charge...until we got his first e-mail. The list of emails that ensued is above. Double click it to see. First was the report that he had a minor auto accident. We were feeling guilty thinking that he had been quite tired on the trip to the airport.

Next day, he emailed there was a water pipe break in his house. I started wondering if he were teasing. The following day we got the message that another neighbors house had been broken into. That did it, I was sure he was just pulling our chains. Ron was sure he wouldn't do that.

Day after day we heard of another catastrophe. My hubby continued to believe every word until the very end. Good job Hugh. Now it is our turn.
