Future Voter

If we are able to keep this country together and avoid becoming Greece, this little boy could one day be a  voter.  If not, he may never get the chance to voice his opinion, let alone vote in a free election.

The federal government is doing all it can to allow fraudulent votes in the upcoming election this November. They have gone so far as to sue those states who are attempting to make sure your vote and mine is safe from those who would steal it. The picture ID will prevent others from voting in our places. It will also cut way down on those who vote for the dead as well as pets, comic book characters, etc.

It has gotten so bad already that 160 counties have registered more voters than they have actual residents.

As many times as I have heard that asking for a picture  ID will prevent actual citizens from voting, I still can't figure out how in the world that could be. If they don't already have an ID, and that has to be very few adults, they have known for quite some time that they may need one. It really isn't that hard to get one, unless the rock they crawled out from under is over 100 miles from civilization...and then, how do they plan to get to a polling place?

And speaking of voting, those in our school district must  vote in a 'sneaky' election intending to raise our taxes substantially in order to build a new
high school.  Now this is a swell time to decide we need a new high school. I've heard it said that it would raise the morale of the school district. Really?  Our area is suffering because the government is taxing business so heavily that they can't afford to do business here. Instead of lowering taxes and allowing businesses to thrive and hire more employees, we want to throw money  at a new school building, while the old one is still quite adequate.  Somehow, I can't see how we would feel better about our community if  we were to lose more jobs in order to pamper our young people.  They need to learn as well as we that  we can't keep spending money we don't have. Do we have some adults out there who  will  vote against a new hefty tax, until such a time as we can actually afford a new school.
