Triplets are a handful. I like understatements like that.  Well, when they invite their friends over, it can be a houseful.  After all, each one has to have a pal.  Last night, the triplets has guests and somehow a tree frog was spotted in the yard.  Now, with 6 kids, you would know that someone or ones would want to bring that frog inside.  After they found a jar, that is what they did. Glad to say, they found a bigger container later, but little froggy was still feeling imprisoned and most likely frightened about his confinement.  But Chelle got some good pictures and the children had a good time while hopefully learning something about the amphibian.

Thankfully, Mason was wearing red, which showed up well in the layout.

Super (Tool) Man

After John (and Caleb) put these two tables together, Caleb climbed up on them and POW, he was Super Tool Man.

It is looking more and more like Mitt Romney is going to be the Republican Tool Man. I pray he can be a super one at that.  With endorsements from President George H.W. Bush, Florida Rep. Marco Rubio and  Paul Ryan, Rep. of Wisconsin this week, he seems to be working up his base.  I've always liked Romney as a man and a speaker. I would have liked to see him be a little more conservative.  However, he is sooooooo conservative in comparison to Barak Hussein Obama...who, I venture to say, has not has a conservative thought in his whole lifetime.  Romney is a true American, born citizen, and most of all, he loves his country.  He is not out to see it's demise as is the Democratic candidate.

I would ask all of you who are supporting one of the other Republican candidates to at least consider supporting the candidacy of Mitt Romney...otherwise this could go into the convention.  That is what I"d been hoping for, but I'm now convinced it would not be good at all.  So now, I am praying that he sews this up quickly and gets busy campaigning.

I highly respect the opinions of Marco Rubio and Paul Ryan, so will be cheering for Romney to capture the votes he needs  to avoid a confrontation at the convention in August.

Tools

Caleb made his first trip to Harbor Freight this week and he was  totally impressed by all the man toys ...TOOLS!  And when Daddy started working with his to build a table for the patio, Caleb had to have tools as well.  So he strapped on a tool belt and drug out a drill and screw driver so he could help.  Sorry to say, it won't be long until he'll be able to handle something like that all by himself.  I say sorry, because they grow up much too fast.

Please continue to pray for our nation.  Pray that the Supreme Court gets Obamacare off our backs. Pray that we can get a jump start on the economy by drilling for  oil and tapping our supply of natural gas.

But most of all, pray that our people will turn from their sinful ways and look to the one true God for answers to their problems.

Do this for our grandchildren, who will not have a chance to be free, if we don't make a big U turn now.

Just Beachy!

Lauren and Pat went to California as a twosome, but I'm happy to see Pat took some pictures of Lauren on the beach. I especially love this picture as the sun was casting a long shadow in the sand behind her.

Time is crushing me tonight.

I must ask you, however, to pray that the Supreme Court makes the right decision on Obamacare. It is of the utmost importance that we throw off this rock from around our necks and bring our country back to it's feet.
We need to get rid off every one of the 2,600 plus pages that bind everything that can be bound. If one were to read all the pages, it would be almost a miracle.  Those who have parts of it have reported horrendous things in it, which while breaking us would also restrict our freedom so that we would no longer be able to even consider ourselves free. We would be wards of the state.

Opinion, Plus

Since Caleb lives in Colorado and I am in Ohio, I haven't seen this little helmet in person.  I'm pretty well impressed. I googled images to see if I could find another one so that I could make out the images.  Well I didn't find any that were anywhere as cute as this one. He certainly is ready to conquer that playground.

My political interest today has been piqued by the Supreme Court case on Obama care.  It couldn't be more interesting, in my opinion.  Many of the questions asked by the court justices are pure genius. If you get a chance, listen to some of it as it is rerun on the news.  Of course, you'll have to consider your source because many of the stations are simply slanted toward the leftist view. You would be better off to try Fox News where they "report, you decide".

I also ran across a very interesting piece by Teresa Kavouras on a scrapbooking site called Happy to Create.  You might check it out here if you are interested in scrapbooking.

This is her article:

I’m not a proponent of Global Warming. Well, at least not the Al Gore definition of Global Warming. I am a scientist, educated in the field of meteorology. I have spent many an hour determining how to move a parcel of air up into the atmosphere, assuming no outside forces are acting upon it. I’ve taken classes in climatology, history, geology, astronomy, and earth science, just to mention a few. I also read articles pertaining to weather and climate on a regular basis. I consider myself to be rather educated in the field.
This is not to say I don’t believe there isn’t climate change. Our climate has been changing longer than you could ever fathom. To put it into perspective, imagine a roll of toilet paper. Not the cheap, generic toilet paper, but perhaps Scott Toilet Tissue…you know, 1000 sheets per roll. If you stretched out that roll of toilet paper and, comparing it to the age of our earth, with the piece in your hand representing the present day, on which sheet do you believe present day humans began to occupy the planet? How about when the ice age began? When dinosaurs became extinct? It may surprise you to learn that we have only been on this earth since sheet 1. The most recent ice age, the one that shaped North America, began on sheet 5. And dinosaurs became extinct on sheet 14. That is less than 5% of geologic time. And in that small amount of time, the climate of the earth has changed so drastically in either direction, that it becomes hard to imagine that as humans, we can possibly determine the climate of our planet based on the number of SUV’s that we drive, or the light bulbs that we use, or the flatulence of cattle. I’m not saying that we aren’t doing unseen harm to our planet. Pollution, litter, land fills, they all do affect us and our future generations, but the early spring that we seem to be experiencing? I’m thinking not. Mother Nature, as wise and wonderful as she may be, has a mind all her own. Her moods change like the ever changing winds. You can’t fool her. And I don’t think you push her in one direction or the other.
So, before you go blaming the actions of a few for the wonderful, early arrival of spring this year, remember who is really responsible. And that in the lifetime of this earth, there have been more than a few early springs. Rather, do as I do, and appreciate the blessing of it. For next year, things are bound to be different, and as quickly as this spring has arrived, our memory of it will be as “old” as the sheets of toilet paper we’ve used today.

This lady is not only a scientist, but she creates some really nice supplies for digital scrapbooking.

Schwinn Bike

These pictures were taken on  Easter in the early 50's. My dad didn't start me out with training wheels and a little bike. I had to learn to ride this big bike just the way it was. I did it. As I look back, I don't know how. I was so afraid that either Mom or Dad had to run along side of me...they were supposedly holding me up right.  However, it wasn't long until they were not holding at all and I was doing find...as long as I thought they were doing their job.   Finally, i realized it was I who has riding that bike and doing just fine.
Look Mom, no helmet. It is a wonder that we never heard of someone getting a head injury from a bike wreck.  We survived many skinned knees and sometimes palms, but our heads are still in tact.

But these days, everyone is so overly safety cautious...except for those who text and drive...that no child will be left behind, without a bike helmet.
I received pictures today of our little grandson, Caleb, in his helmet. It is the cutest one I've ever seen.   I hope  to have a layout for tomorrow night of him in that brightly colored head protector.
Just a few sentences to bring some sanity into our lives:
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them; and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work, because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Juicing

When it comes to juicing, I'm not a good team player.  I do support Ron in his desire to be healthier, but I'm just not going to participate. I would rather chew my veggies.  Anyway, some of his friends are more obliging.  A few weeks ago, Frank was the guinea pig for Ron's latest concoction.  I'm not sure what was in there,. It surely looked awful.  But Frank was a good sport and tasted it.  I don't know if  he liked it, but at least he didn't spew it across the room.

Speak of spewing, the presidential campaign is becoming somewhat rough. Many say they would rather hear the candidates showing more love of their fellow man while pointing out why they themselves would make the better candidate.  However, politicians found that the negative ads help with many other people.

It is uncomfortable to watch some of the ads, even when they are true representations of facts.  Following is one such ad.  This link was posted on the Blaze: Watch and let us know what you think about it.

Democrats don't like Santorum's new ad, "Welcome To Obamaville"

Rick Santorum's campaign just launched the first in a series of eight ads dedicated to showing what America would look like if President Obama is re-elected.  Many on the left are not pleased with this 'cautionary tale.'

It has been 10 days since Lauren and Pat were on Santa Monica Beach in California.  Spring break is over and they are now studying and separated by several states.  Thought I'd post this tonight to take them back there in memory.

I'd like to take myself and the rest of you, if you'll go, back in memory to spring of 2008 when things in this country were so very bad that all we ever heard was how really bad it was and how terrible our president was.  Day after day we were bombarded with negativity.  I was able to overlook it then, since it was generally said by ignorant people who had been brainwashed by liberal professors and newsmen.

But that very fall when a new president was put in office things started really looking bad,  fast.  Trillions of dollars have been thrown away in order to save us from that bad economy that now looks like a really good  economy. I'd go back in a jiffy.  Oh, that we could.  But alas, it won't be possible to right it quickly.  Too much damage has been done and is being done daily to  infringe upon our freedom, and to put a division between the races that should not be there.  Some are concentrating on putting a wall  between those who have and who strive to make jobs for  those of us who really need to work and make a living for our families, and those who have not, who often just don't care to work.  The dividers are trying also to pit women against men, and gays against 'straights'.

For those of us who recognize that history does repeat itself, this was taken from an email I recently received:  All great democracies have committed financial suicide somewhere between 200 and 250 years after being founded. The reason? The voters figured out they could vote themselves money from the treasury by electing people who promised to give them money from the treasury in exchange for electing them.
The United States officially became a Republic in 1776, 231 years ago. The number of people now getting free stuff outnumbers the people paying for the free stuff. We have one chance to change that in 2012. Failure to change that spells the end of the United States as we know it.

Sad, but true.

Also tonight,  I'm asking that we all pray for a young pastor names Youcef Nadarkhani who was raised by Muslim parents, but who became a Christian at age 19. He is being  tried and in that country and could be  executed.  Please pray.

Simple Things

It's the simple things of life that delight a child.  Just finding a dried flower from last year's garden was enough to bring this great big smile to Caleb's face.  Oh that we can be pleased with all the blessings God has created to for us day to day.  It's so much better to appreciate than to feel begrudged that someone else has something we don't have. God has given us what we need and much, much more. Resentment is so bad for one's disposition, health and happiness.  While joy is the product of thankfulness.

Let us attempt to look at small things around us in a new way, perhaps as a child sees them, and thank God, the creator, for what he has done and continues to do for us.

Thursday, March 22, 2012

My good news is that these pictures were taken March 15 and as of this morning, I am down another pound...17 since January 8. It's coming slowly now, but I'm feeling great and am happy that a diet is working...finally.  As you can see, there is a way to go, but I can see the possibility.

Now what I'd really like to see in the future is an election that is not fraught with fraud.  We'd like a good old American election where only the citizens vote and one vote per person.

Since Voter IDs offer a 'reasonable safeguard' against voter fraud and ballot-box stuffing, wouldn't one think that every citizen would be for them?  If so, why oh why then is there an all out war by Eric Holder on voter IDs???

Makes one think he may fear that without illegal votes, his candidate can not win another election.

Record Breaking

When I read this article in the paper this morning, I decided  I had to do a  spring layout, since I hadn't yesterday on the official first day of spring.  In this area of the country, the first day of spring generally means nothing because we are still pretty cold...many times, snowy.  But so far this year, it has been wonderfully sunny. Winter went by without much of the white stuff at all.  Now we are breaking all time records.  (Who knows what happened before records?) I do know a few people who have missed a true winter, but there are not many of them. I don't believe in manmade  global warming; but if by chance it would be like this...bring it on.  I wouldn't be disappointed if it were like this every year.

This is one of those days when I've taken in all the news and have decided to mull over it before acting.
It is not pleasant and I would rather just enjoy the good things God has given us right now and ignore the big problems down the road.  The problem is, I fear we are nearing the end of that road. We will have to pays the debt for having let things get so bad, for not teaching our children better, for allowing TV to go almost completely to immorality, for electing people who should have never been in office or even near one.

Now, let me just be happy with the sunshine for a little while.  I'll pray that God will keep watch and protect us.  But I'm not going far...not straying from my path of study and devotion to the master.

By the way, we did break another record today with 80 degrees.  The next to hottest day for this date here was 75.

Monster Carrots

Have you ever in your life seen carrots this big? I have not. I've been calling them Atomic Carrots.  Why would a farmer grow these gigantic vegetables?  Do horses eat them or what?  Ron came home with the story that they are good for juicing, which is what Ron is doing again.  The last time was years ago, when he juiced only carrots and quit when he turned orange.  This time, he's including many more vegetables and an occasional apple.

The fellow who introduced him to juicing the last time was what I call a health food nut.  Don't get me wrong, I think God put good foods on this earth for us to eat to our health in moderation.  Overdosing on any one food can't be that great  for a person.  Back to the story... the friend was a wonderful man with a loving personality.  We were saddened when he was diagnosed with cancer.  On his death bed, he told my husband..."forget everything I said. When you eat,  eat in moderation and ask the Lord's blessing."

It's been many years since then and another friend reintroduced Ron to this type of diet a couple of months ago.

The title of this layout was meant to be funny. I did not send Ron out to buy carrots or anything else. He went willingly on his own to replenish his supply of veggies for his juice machine.  He has found a place which, he says, sells  these foods for 1/2 the price. I'm not sure that is right.  But, he is happy.

There is a new song that, in my opinion, you will want to hear and perhaps even buy.  You can listen to it here.  Enjoy it and pass it on so that others may come to know it.

Lucky

Our Lucky little grandson is studying a little turtle while modeling his new St. Patrick's Day shirt.
When you are two years old, you can feel lucky just by having a little toy in your hand. He takes in every detail. And of course we, his whole family, are all Lucky, but most of all, blessed to have him.

Hope you can feel lucky today...but more than that I pray you are feeling blessed right now...blessed to be alive and blessed to be a child of God, the creator of the universe. It is from Him that all good things come.

I suggest we all pray for our nation today...right now, if you will, that God saves us from the mess we have made of our great country; for as bad as it is, it will take His all powerful hand to guide us and protect us at the voting booths across the nation.

Footbasketball

Caleb picked up the football and... played basketball.  So what is the problem?  It fits in that basket quite well.

Oh how sweet the innocence of childhood.  He hasn't a care in the world. No worries.

Not quite so with adults though. We need to keep awake and know everything we can about what is happening.

After all, the Obamanation is going to be flooding the campaign trail with money...a lot of it probably confiscated from us voters through tricks., that is the part that does not come from foreign nations.  They will litterally try to buy the vote.

This is a bit of history that has remained hidden in my head for some time.  One of my uncles lived in West Virginia.  He was always given the opportunity to buy votes for the Democrats at election time. He didn't think anything of telling us.  I think it is safe to tell it now.  He has been dead for some time.

Of course there are some places in the country that are notorious for their crooked elections.  Of course, we'd never think of Chicago that way, would we?

It is a little embarrassing to see one of the Republican wannabes flooding states with 'his' money trying to influence the vote.  Maybe you know that for every vote that Romney has gotten, he's spent $12, while Rick Santorum has spent a much more modest $3.

Cuter Than Cute

I'm thankful that I had finished this layout some days ago.  My computer just decided to pull a good one on me tonight. When working in Photoshop Elements 10, nothing would save, so I could not complete more layouts.

Now it is late and I must sleep. I has been a long, long day.

I appreciate you all for checking by to see my layouts and for my opinions.  Even though I heard lots of news today, my brain is in a fog.

I'm praying tomorrow will be a better computer day.

Where's Waldo?

Where's Waldo?  Where's Lauren?    Lauren and Pat seem to turn up all over.  It's  spring break and this time they are in Phoenix, Arizona at the Tempe Diablo Stadium for Spring training for the Los Angeles Angels.   Evidently they love that game.  You might notice Pat is wearing his Phillies' shirt.

And now time for an opinion based on fact:  After three years of Obama... Here's your change!

Avg. Retail price/gallon gas in U.S.

                    1/2009 was $1.83           1/2011: $3.44    percent of increase: 84%

But we can't really keep up with all the change. Today it was $3.85 here. That's more than double what it was when Obama became president.

Blame whomever you want, but when Bush was president his name was mud when gas went up a little.

Obama is on the record saying we should have gas prices like Europe. It just isn't fair for us to get it for less . Besides, he believes we shouldn't be driving all these cars around. We need to change to another source of energy, or use mass transit.

The fact is, gasoline is plentiful in the US. All we need do is drill for it.   Even though we the tax payers have  thrown away too much money into companies for developing other sources of energy and cars that run on alternative fuels, nothing works like or as cheaply as gasoline.

Caleb's Picnic

Colorado has been having some warm, bright days recently. Of course that is not a rarity like it is here in Ohio.  It's great for a two year old to be able to get outdoors and run off energy.  Here he is settled down with his picnic lunch and new sandals.

It was beautiful here today and if I could have spared the time, I would have been out in our yard cutting and dragging away debris from last year's greenery.

It so happened  that we had a luncheon at church for the older set.  Being on a diet and watching everyone dig into the types of food that were popular in the 60's and 70's  (fried chicken, gravy, macaroni and cheese...you get the picture) could have been hard; but I really have become a salad person this year. So, it didn't tempt me one bit.  The only thing that got my attention was key lime pie; but I was able to pass it by.  So after eating sparingly, I went to Curves and worked out for one hour. Now if I don't break through this barrier I've hit and lose another pound, I surely will be surprised, because I also skipped dinner and drank a 140 calorie soy shake instead.

I'm saying I did not have a picnic today.

Neither is it a picnic to listen to some of the liberals spout off these days.  There is a comedian named Bill Maher who was making fun of Santorum for homeschooling his children.  Now to show the side I'm on, I whole hardily support home schooling now, even though I taught in public school...back when my first graders actually learned how to read in that 9 month school year.  Today our children are not safe in most public schools: educationally, physically, mentally or emotionally.  If I had a child now, even at my age, I would consider it a necessity to home school him or her.   Okay, back to Maher.  I won't even repeat here some of the tripe he spewed.  But I really appreciated Santorum's comeback.  He said that his 12 year old boy could out reason Maher.  Not knowing the child, I would still be willing to bet that he is  much better able to deduce situations in the political arena and beyond than is the comedian.

Weekend Visit

We were blessed by a visit by our youngest son this weekend.  He had been back East on business and took out a little time  to come to OH. We appreciate it and really enjoyed our visit. Of course I kept him busy with my computer for quite a while.

The pictures were taken when we took a walk in the park on Sunday afternoon.  The weather was perfect and more  heat is to follow. By the end of the week we can expect 70 degrees.

While John was here, we checked in on Beth and Caleb with Face Time several times.  They were doing well, but getting anxious to have him home, I suspect.

We were really excited to have John meet our new preacher who keeps us anxious to go to church each week.  We certainly don't want to miss a thing. He keeps it's interesting as well as Biblical. Our church is growing and it is obvious why.  We were right. John was duly impressed.

I hadn't been watching the political scene quite as closely this weekend; so when I saw this morning that the feds are going to block a Texas law requiring  photo identification to vote, I wanted to throw a fit that would cause waves throughout Washington.  HOW DARE THEY! Texas is a sovereign state. They have a problem to solve and our federal government steps in on the side of foreigners!

It might be time to divide the country in 1/2.  Conservatives in one half and liberals in the other. I don't care into which part the conservatives go, it would be blossoming and soon booming.  While the other portion would be stinky from trash strewn around. There would be no money because they would immediately spend all they had on things other than necessities and all those who were not the president's best friends would have the same...nothing much.  They wouldn't have sufficient energy. They would be standing in line at shops to buy what little they could for exorbitant  sums from other  countries. Their borders would be overrun for a time by those from other countries. But that would stop because no one would want to go there after everyone started wearing rags and begging on the streets.

It's a dreary picture, but without a good work ethic and with everyone wanting others to support them, that's what you get. A big mess.

Saturday, March 10, 2012

Ashley had donated 10 inches of her hair before to 'Locks of Love' and on February 27th, she donated another 10 inches.  It is a wonderful cause.  It supplies hair to those under 21 years of age in the United States and Canada who have hair loss because of longterm illness and medication.

The 10 inches make a big difference.  I like her new haircut.

It's been a long day, we've been visiting with our son, John, here today and we turn up our clocks tonight, so I'm off to bed in a few minutes.

It has been a blessing having John here.  He has helped us so much with our computers.

I'm impressed with an app he has on his iPhone that will remind him when he arrives at work to do certain things. It knows when he gets there by the GPS (or whatever it is) in his phone.  He told it to remind him to call his dad.  It asked, "Who is your dad?" When he told it, it repeated that it would remind him to call his dad at a certain time.  I am really impressed.  Why would a person need a brain if he had an iPhone?

Oh yes, he needs a brain to vote.  I think that was what was missing the last time.  All the gamers, etc. were in another world of wishful thinking instead of reality.  The economy and loss of freedom certainly has shocked most of us back to truth.  Let's keep our wits about us all the way to the voting booths.

A Blessing to Me

Finally, I've remembered to  post the companion page to the March 3rd blog layout.   I  had hoped that some day we 'girls'  would have more time together, but it seems to be working the opposite way.  As we and our families age, our time has more demands and we find it more difficult to get together as often as we once did.   Of course I missed the winter trip to Texas this year and that was a major togetherness time. No matter how much or little I see the girls, ORU is a blessing to me.

We were working on a  picture into which I could photoshop myself, when Layton called. Then we decided to wait for him to take our picture when he got home.  However, it was one of his friends who hit the shutter for us.  Men can be helpful at times.  lol

Am limited on time,  so you get  to see a layout  and can rest from my opinions. But I'll be back with lots of them. It is getting close to November.

God Bless America

I'm racing against the clock again tonight.  Trying to get this posted before midnight. I ran into trouble on the layout I had intended to put here, because  I really need to learn how to make text on a path. Not sure when I'll have time to work on it again.  I actually have a tutorial that looks very easy, but for some reason it doesn't seem to want to work for me.  That's me and technology...not compatible.

Anyway, I took this picture one sunny afternoon in January. I loved the way the sun streamed across the floor to me, as if it were inviting me out to play. But I knew better. It may have looked warm out there, but it was much warmer inside.  We are so very blessed.  God bless America.

Family Time with Wall-E

It was a tradition in our home, while John was growing up, to go to the movies on Friday night.  Of course, that didn't start until he was able to sit through a show. I remember the first time I took him, I  had to walk out with him crying.  Even though that was 1n 1982 and the theater is now gone,  I can still see the hallway to the restroom and the man standing there by the men's room and the crying little one in my arms.  I guess you could say it was traumatic to leave such an impression. Thankfully, It was early enough that they gave us tickets for another time.

TV screens are so much bigger now than they were at that time and staying home can be much more comfortable sometimes. John, Beth and Caleb enjoyed this movie, Wall- E, on their own television.

As an old grandmother several states away from our youngest grandchildren, I had no idea what it was about.  But, when I googled the name, I came up with lots of images to brighten up the layout.

1982 was much different than today...the main thing being, we had a wonderful president.  He was elected by a wide margin after the preceding president, Jimmy Carter, had ruined the economy with his 'progressive' agenda.  We are up against the same thing this year.  I pray that the present 'progressive' smooth talker is soundly trounced in the election.

It is more and more  difficult to use that word 'progressive'.  That is the word the left prefers, but it has grown into something even worse...a lot worse.

God save us.

Super States Elections Tomorrow VOTE

Caleb is some boy. He was rocking out. I just caught the sweet pictures, but there was some hard rockin' goin' on here.

I was blessed today be receiving not only the video these were taken from, but several stills as well.  It was a good day!

It's also been a very busy day.  Lots is happening these days.  I'm trying to catch up on my work around the house.   Isn't that interesting?  :)   I caught up once again with my email.  Worked out at Curves for nearly an hour, washed several loads of clothes, changed the bed and made shish kabobs for dinner.

Now that I've bored you silly, I'll change the subject to something I found in my email today.  It is a quote from Abraham Lincoln that should be a part of us if we know our history, which too many of us do not these days.  Read it and vote tomorrow.

"You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence.

You cannot help people permanently by doing for them,
what they could and should do for themselves."

Leap Year Day

Out in Colorado, Leap Year Day was sunny and beautiful.  Simple things, like Caleb pushing his buggy around the patio, make sweet memories.

I'm hoping and praying that this administration will be only bad memories by this time next year.
Surely everyone has heard of the female college student at Georgetown University. Yes, the one who  pays at least $40,000 a year to go to the university, but is crying to congress that it is too much of a hardship for her to afford contraceptives.  I have  a few suggestions for her:

1. Choose a cheaper school.
2. Choose a public university that is not church related.
2. Shop around for contraceptives.  Try Walmart where they are very cheap.
3. Or best: Study more, Party less.

Certainly one bright enough to go to Georgetown would realize that  her school is a Catholic University and thus does not condone contraceptives in the first place.

Girl Fun

There weren't many of us in town, and Jill was working. But Teresa was back.and we hadn't seen her for a long time.  We were missing her. And since she had been missing us as well, she had us over for lunch and a gab fest.  Tomorrow I may blog another layout to go with this one. We were practicing our pose and trying to get two to put together so that we would all be in it.

We were in luck.  Layton called that he was coming home and was bringing friends.  So we had a photographer who couldn't really say, 'no'.  Sorry Layton, we really needed your friend's help.

Ohio will be voting next Tuesday. It is time for us to study the ballot, it we haven't before now.

Cupcake Madness

On February 17 I posted a layout of the triplets with yummy cupcakes for Valentine's  Day. But there was a day earlier in February when they  had these cupcakes as well.  You might remember the  5th  of the month as Superbowl Sunday; but the triplets remember it for a time of feasting with great cupcakes.  They were super fans of those little cakes. Yes, those sweets had tiny plastic footballs on top, but they weren't much good... they were not edible.

I left home at 9:15 this morning and returned about 9:30 PM. It's been a busy day and I'm very tired. Am giving up without warning you that our president  and his crew admit they think  the price of oil should be higher, so that we will wean ourselves from using that type of energy.  Oh yes.  That is correct. I say Drill Baby Drill.

APS, 5 Year Old, and Computers

A person can get what seems like an endless supply of APS for an iPhone.  Ron used one to take this right hand picture of me at the computer.  It does a pencil drawing. He took another picture, the regular way, so I could complete this layout.

I've been doing a lot of artwork, as you probably know, on my computer. But I also receive and send LOTS of email. And I try to keep myself informed of all that is going on in the world of politics and search sites daily to fill my head with more than I really want to know. Each day I usually find something uplifting to think about.  That keeps me from tearing out all my hair over the state of affairs.

Today I saw a five year old boy explain the economy. I want to share, because he is soooo cute and RIGHT as well.  Go here to see him.

Looks like even though I had resolved to put a layout on the blog each night, I'm not sure what will happen the next couple of days.  It seems that my computer is behaving so badly that my husband has deemed it necessary to wipe the disk clean and reinstall it.  He says everything is backed up well. Well, I hope he is correct.  I should have much more faith in him. After all he has worked in computers since the 60's...yes, before there was anything like we have today. He was in on the 'ground floor'.  He is an expert...but I  suppose at times I am a bit of a pessimist, especially when it comes to something I just don't understand.

We'll see. Keep checking back to see if I'm online again.  And in the meantime...don't forget to pray for our country. And while you are at it, ask God if there is something in particular He would like for you to do.
