Sweet Innocence

Many of us are not into the spooky side of Halloween. We prefer the cute little kids dressed as pleasant characters. It is fun to see them choose what they want to be and carry  a bag from place to place to collect sweet treats. It is a happy time...not scary...not at all like some of the terrible things that go on with adults who are totally into grotesque and seeming devil worshipping activities. In my opinion, and I'm entitled to it, lol  Halloween has gotten totally out or control in some areas.  I may look like a witch, but I would distance myself from those who practice such ungodly behavior. Why?

What does the Bible say about witches?

Deuteronomy 18:9-11

New International Version (NIV)

Occult Practices

When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there.10 Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, 11 or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead.

It is also addressed in the New Testament:

Galatians 5:19-21
New International Version (NIV)
19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Why would we pretend to be something God detests?
