Tender Love

I have loved this tender picture of Beth and Oliver from the minute I saw it. It was taken in January of this year.  Oliver was less that two months old and, if I remember correctly, there are times in those early months when Mommy doesn't get all the sleep that she needs.  Beth looked tired, but she was cuddling sweet baby as she rested her eyes.

I suspect that with a baby and a very active four year old, Beth doesn't always get the sleep she needs. There is only so much time in a day.

We all have the same number of hours in a day. Most of us  have the freedom to choose how we want to spend those hours. As Americans, many of us spend several hours a day in front of a television.

You probably know that I don't watch much TV. Most of it seems like a waste of time and much of it is bereft of good morals. The shows are planned, I believe, to shatter our faith and lead us into temptation...as stated in the Lord's prayer.

The Duck Dynasty show is so very popular and it is very different from most of the junk on TV now.  It is funny, entertaining and there is nothing offensive to those of us who believe Jesus is the Son of God and the one to whom we have pledged our lives.

I saw a clip on the Blaze today that brought me joy. A man from New Jersey drove to Louisiana to be baptized by Phil Robertson.  I promise it is not meant to mislead you or cause you trouble. Watch it.

Romans 6:3-4

New International Version (NIV)
Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
The word 'baptism' is English for baptizo which means to immerse.
