This was just an ordinary ORU lunch, at least that is what we expected. We didn't know the place we had chosen was gutted and being renovated. We still had a good lunch at a place we had gone to other times. Now we are looking forward to a new Yours Truly in Hudson.

I love nature walks, however I don't remember ever taking one while the trees were bare of their leaves. It was interesting to see the scenery in Vail in April even though we were not there. I'm thankful our kids got some good pictures for us. The Aspen trees are attractive to me even when they are bare. I love the white bark. And one evergreen did a lot for this photo. Then Oliver came through with his bright red jacket and really livened things up well. As much I liked these pictures, some others they took of a stream were really beautiful!

Its been another hot day in the neighborhood. I understand it has cooled down a bit in Colorado. They've had the hot days as well. But the mountains give the state a very varied climate. Just last month our 'kids' were in Vail. This layout today is of Beth and her son Caleb with the beautiful snow behind them and the bright sun in their eyes.

I think I've told the whole story on the layout. Thanks to photoshop, we are able to get group pictures when there is no photographer available. It works, it is fun. What more could we want, besides having the 'children' near us all the time.

It is sad living so far from our grandchildren. The soccer season is over for Oliver and we didn't get to see him play at all. I am so blessed though to get pictures. I got several more and will make another layout later. Oliver is on your left. They have found a good way to keep his hair out of his way while he plays. Congratulations to the team and their coach.

Here is another picture from the Gaylord Rockies visit in April. There were lots of pictures taken, thankfully. It was a very pleasant getaway. This one is special to me, since it shows a whole family pose with no question as to where they were.

There seem to be too many instances this year where I'm having trouble getting details about some pictures I'm loving. I'm going ahead and making layouts anyway. Hope others like them as much as I do.

I just found these pictures this last week. I'm getting slower and slower at everything, leaving less time to do layouts. I'm also slower and slower doing layouts as well. It is heart warming to see the siblings, Mason and Ashley enjoying each other's company.

We would like to welcome Cathy into our family. She recently became engaged to our oldest son, Tim. She is sweet and thoughtful, a Christian lady whom we respect.

I just found out about these pictures, even though they were taken in February when Chelle and Mason took a quick trip to Atlanta to buy a desk at IKEA. It was a good trip, nearly 4 hours one way. They bought the desk. These interesting pictures were taken at a rest stop along the interstate.

As best I can remember, this is Mason's first job and he enjoys it. The layout tells one little story about that.

Although this picture of Julia and her mother, Beth, was made in February of 2019, I first saw it recently and made the layout today. It is just too cute to overlook. It needs to be in a book, and if all goes well, it will be.

I understand how much pleasure one can get from seeing their favorite birds swimming nearby. I love seeing the swans and Beth loves these pelicans that come back to Colorado each spring.

Maggie doesn't appreciate that she has a roomy house, she would rather run free outdoors. She does like to sit on the swing for long periods of time though, as long as one of us is with her, or at least close enough to take her picture.

It seems the best thing about the Gaylord Rockies on a cold day is the outdoor swimming pool, which is heated. It is cool to have this top picture which shows piles of snow around the pool that were leftover from a big snowstorm.

Saturday, May 8, 2021

I'm taking us back to the Gaylord Rockies where John and family took a break in April after a big snow there. The heated outdoor pool was the biggest hit, but indoors there were some really good opportunities for photos and this hippopatamus served that purpose well.

Hannah is blessed to live in Florida. Brandon is visiting her from TX where he now works. It is a shame he had to move away from her, but one must go where the job is. It is also bad that he had to leave Florida. It is now about the only place where freedom is still a positive thing. Brittanie is visiting her dad and her brother Brandon. I am so happy they could all be there together for a time, even if it was short.

I was able to put the whole story on the layout itself.

National Scrapbook Day was May 1st this year. It is a good excuse just to sit at the computer and knock out layouts. I was able to do 10 this year, even though I've slowed way down in the last couple of years. This layout was one of the ones I made. It was very simple, yet shows how cute my dog is, especially when I'm not expecting to see her. She doesn't stare out this window that often, so it was fun to drive by and see her there. I just had to stop and take a photo.

Our son Tim has lived in Florida for many years now. It has always been a good get away place for us northerners in the winter; but now it is especially nice and many people are leaving their own states and moving into Florida. Tim has his children Brandon and Brittanie and grandchild Ava visiting him there now.

Here's more from the Gaylord Rockies...Julia in her unicorn robe.

Saturday, May 1, 2021

John and his family took a break and spent some time at the Gaylord Rockies recently. This is a layout of Julia in the lobby with a moose. It has been a fun day for me. It is National Scrapbook Day. I spent lots of time and did many more layouts than I usually do in a day. Glad I had the chance to enjoy it. Thank all of you who have provided me with photos.
