Not All Masks are Ugly

Since Chelle has been making  masks for a local hospital, she thought she would make some for her family. I'm not sure if the thought, or the fabric came first, but whatever, the idea  hatched and now she has a mask and so does Ashley.  And their love of cats is evident. It would be fun if all masks look as cute as these, but obviously that is not the case.

I certainly  would like to have a nice one, or even an ugly one to wear  out  to the pharmacy tomorrow.  It is a shame that Chelle with her skills lives at least 8 hours away when driving. I'm feeling a little bit like I shouldn't be out at all. I most definitely am in the high risk age group.

Remembering January

Now that we can't get out and go as we always have, we have time  to sit and remember when. Remember when Santa came. Remember skiing the slopes. Remember when Aunt  Sarah and Uncle Michael came and brought Katie and Patrick to visit after Christmas. We celebrated the new year together. We had lots of fun...Remember when  we went to The Shops at Foothills and ice skated.

We hope to do it again next winter. But for now, lets find something fun to do at home.

Unicorn Rainbow Cheesecake

I do believe this is THE ORIGINAL  Unicorn Rainbow Cheesecake. It is exactly what Julia requested for her birthday. Her mom, who is a wonder in the kitchen, was able to supply it.  And Julia was quite  happy.

Julia was a sweetheart about this special day. The country had just been  turned upside down.  Things were not the same at all, but Julia was excited to have her birthday party at home with just her Mom and Dad and two brothers. She turned a BIG 4.

I'll probably make another layout later and use this picture, but  I'm adding it right now to show how good it looked.

                                           .

Pajamas and Bubbles

Julia's  Pajamas remind me of  the Corona virus pandemic now. These pictures are dated on Christmas Day...and now three months later, many of us are wearing  PJS all day long because  it is recommended for us to stay at home; and here in Ohio, the weather has produced  pretty much stay in the house kind of days.

Today is a perfect example. I've worn pajama with a bed jacket all day long. They are very comfortable.

The unfortunate part is, if one eats more out of boredom and doesn't get enough exercise, she could grow out of her clothes  while remaining very comfortable in her pajamas.  I predict many diets once the pandemic is over.

Actually, that is better than not having enough to eat, which  could happen to some as well.

While we are  cooped up in our homes, we need to appreciate that we have a home with everything we really need and a God who will stay by our side ready to guide us through.

Beware of Dog

Short and sweet tonight...Beware of the dog. She will steal your heart.

Solitaire Level 750

As  I wrote at the bottom: "No, I don’t always dress up to play Solitaire. But this morning I went to church. Later in the day I sat down, pulled out my phone and started to play. It wasn’t long until I, Lou Ann, reached the level 750 and was given the title Queen Bee. I can’t accept it, because that is the ORU  title for Paulette . She deserves that title, not me.

I  find it amusing that they keep coming up with title names for every 10 more  series of games won. Some of them are pretty good, some pretty poor and some are ludicrous.

I don't know why I do it. I'm hooked, not because I need to feel accomplished or anything. I just do it while I watch Tucker, which is practically the only TV I watch. To me TV needs accompaniment and for  me, that can be solitaire.

I do it when  I'm bored...yes, I'm boring.

Candles

Here is  Julia's family at their church's candlelight service Christmas eve.

Almost three months later, Julia had her 4th birthday on March the 16th. The family .celebrated at home and here is a picture of her with her cake.  Look at that candle! It is a very special  birthday centerpiece full of candles. Lots  to blow out. But she managed to do it well.

It is a very special  day in Colorado.  It is Julia's birthday. I don't have any birthday  pictures yet, but  I finally finished this layout of some Christmas pictures that show her on Christmas day in her princess dress playing with their new  bubble machine. She was delighted and just as cute as can be.

Today we were able to Face Time her for a while and she is pretty excited about being 4 now. Hopefully soon I will have a birthday page made for her wearing her  birthday t-shirt her mother made her.

There was more news  out of Colorado today. Oliver can remember  the day he lost his first tooth  since it happened on Julia's birthday.  Hopefully he didn't  misplace  that tooth and that the tooth fairy  visits their house tonight.

Disney Cruise

In Recent Days Disney has been closing first Disneyland and now Disney World and Disney Cruises.

Here is our Disney Story: The grandchildren in Colorado were given a Disney Cruise for Christmas and shortly thereafter, they made that trip.  It was quite wonderful and we have lots of pictures.
Here I'm posting  them as they open the  BIG  box  on Christmas morning and then a photo of their family at the end of their cruise.

John, Oliver, Julia, Caleb and Beth  pose for Star Wars Day at Sea.

Sorry it is now closed, at least for a few weeks. Hopefully not  too many people will be disappointed and that Disney will open again soon.

March Means Good Skiing

This is our grandson Caleb, the skier.

Colorado has a long ski season and March is generally the best month to go, meaning now is the time  to ski, but school gets in the way. I doubt if Caleb gets to the  slopes again this season.

In this case, if I am wrong, he will be happy.

The Key

This is a very special key...the key to Brittanie's heart. Ava, her little daughter, holds that key.

Love is a beautiful thing, especially love of a mother and child. May God bless both of them with that special love that appreciates and respects and lasts forever.

Turn Your Clocks Ahead

Tonight we turn our clocks forward one hour. We have done ours early in an attempt to get to bed on time,  so that we won't be late to church tomorrow.  That fact reminds me of the last time I did a layout with a clock. It was at 12:00 midnight when 2020 arrived here in Ohio.

I always wait up for it, since I am a night owl anyway, but my hubby doesn't. He goes to bed early, a always!  It was only 8:30 when this picture was taken and he was about ready to head to bed, with Maggie not far behind. In the meantime, he lays on the sofa 'watching TV and she lays there at his head and sleeps a few winks herself.  Where am I? Why at the computer, of course.

Happy Daylight Savings  Time. There are some who are pushing to make this our last time change. That will make it permanently Daylight Savings Time. I would love to see that happen. For one thing, we have a very large clock for which Ron has to use a tall ladder to change its hands.

I also appreciate the extra hour of light in the evenings.

Lauren and Britt have been friends for a long time. They don't see each other as much as they did, now that Britt is a mother. It was great to see them able to enjoy some time together.

We Love Books

So many books, so little time...Books make life so much more interesting. You can see that we love
books. I love to see the grandchildren enjoying books.

Just for fun I am quoting Groucho Marx words on books:
"Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read."

This  smile on Ava's face is definitely one of the sweetest of all smiles.  Of course this is her great grandmother doing the writing, so it is possible  there is  a little prejudice in that statement, but  I don't think so.

Tuesday, March 3, 2020

I love this picture that was taken on Christmas Eve of Beth and her little daughter, Julia.
I am  blessed to be Julia's grandmother and  to have such a wonderful daughter-in-law.

Tiger Heaven

Ashley surely loves her tigers. She has collected them for many years.  She and her friend Jay had their picture taken with a pile of those tigers. It is a pretty cool picture, especially  with those big smiles on their faces.
