Been There Done That Had Fun

The triplets  got home from church camp yesterday.  They were just gone over the weekend, but their mom was really missing them and glad to pick them up with all the dirt, etc. that comes home with them.  Haven't talked to them yet, but can imagine there are plenty of stories to be told.

 And here is a  layout to show their cute faces and T shirts.

I suppose they had hot dogs at camp.    And that reminds me of a weiner I don't want to see.  We need to keep alert.  This could be a smoke screen. When everyone's attention is drawn to something like that, those  socialists in power often take the opportunity to pull off something really big...and they get away with it.

It is repulsive and disgusting, but there are many much more heinous things that could happen to us while we are watching  that weiner.

Smart Dog

It is a smart dog that can look ahead, see trouble coming and thus avoid it.   Rado knows the capabilities of his little housemate.  He has seen him paint before. 

Can't we be just as alert and cautious?  We know from the past what a government can do to freedom.  We can see it coming if our eyes are open.  So what will we do?  Sit back and watch the paint fly? Fiddle while Rome burns?

If you've been here before, you probably know the triplets are home schooled.  It's not something one would forget.  Just thinking about it makes me wonder how it all works; especially since their mom individualizes the lessons for each one.  Is there really enough time in a day?  But they seem to be doing just fine and it is so comforting to know they are not exposed to the outlandish stuff that goes on in public school these days.   They attend what they call a co-op of home schoolers one day a week.  

 Of course I'm prejudiced. Being their grandmother I think they are the best looking third of the class.

Since their mom doesn't 'work', but just home schools (lol), she has lots of time; so she worked on the yearbook this year.  In order to do that, she has studied  photoshop  and used it to  turn out some great pages. The one featured here in my layout is one. 

Please stop and pray for  those around the world who are involved in turmoil, whether it be as victims of such as tornadoes, fires, earthquakes, or war.  I pray that all Christians suffering these trials, will be strong and courageous and that those who are still in the world and outside God's grace will come to know Him and make Him Lord of their lives, for He loves us all.

Happiness With the Simple Things in Life

What makes you happy? Do you need  a big, new house?  Do you need a sporty new car?  Do you need a new wardrobe?  Or can you be happy with what God created? Do trees, flowers, blue skies, animals delight you?  God has given us what we need.  Often we worry about things we need. The Bible cautions us:

 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin." Matthew 6:28

The Bible also reassures us: "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19

Sofa Back

It's been a long day and I need to take care of the cat and put her to bed.  So, if I don't finish this blog before I crash, please forgive me and know my head is a whir, though fast asleep.

The picture is of the triplets, Ashley, Mason and Aussie and their friend Gabriel sitting on the back off a very nice sofa.  I wouldn't recommend that...if you value the sofa.  But stuff happens.  Most nine year olds do not have the math background to calculate the weight that a sofa back was made to handle.

Tuscaloosa Tornado

The tornadoes  around the country have been terrifying and devastating for many people this year.  It is hard to see the damage and imagine the fear and sadness it brings to those involved. 

Lauren was attending college there and had said that for the first time, she actually heeded the siren and took cover on campus.  We are thankful that the campus was not hit directly and she was just fine.

But even though it was not leveled as were some areas of the city, the damage that resulted in them having no electricity on campus was serious enough to send everyone home early.  The semester was not over, but students left.  Not all college students  would  feel the same way about those circumstances. You can imagine that some would feel cheated out of instruction after having paid for a fell semester. But Lauren  whose grades were good up to that point, was quite happy when  she was given the opportunity to get the grade she had or finish up next fall.  She took her grades and ran...back to the north where she belongs anyway.  Whoops, I'm getting my preferences in there.  She is too far away from us when in AL.

It is all in one's perspective.  And so it is when you consider the pastor who had to go to court to be allowed to mention the name of Jesus in his Memorial Day public prayer.

Speak Up

The triplets and a couple of friends visited the lake.  What a great photo op!  It is really fun when they are enjoying themselves enough to ham it up for the camera.   As you can see, they are not afraid of what people will think.  

We need  to be more like that.  I'm not saying  do things to shock people.  And certainly we shouldn't tell lies.  We shouldn't do anything that would be a bad example for those watching us.  But so often, we've been quiet because it wasn't popular to express views that didn't go along with the crowd, or the group of over sensitive people we've been trained by the press to 'please'.  PC has been a big freedom crusher for some time now.

Don't let things like that get in your way of speaking up for your God given rights and those of others.  Speak your mind.  You may be pleased to find you are in the majority and once you break the silence you will see others agreeing with you. You can then enjoy a support group of kindred minds.

Don't be afraid:   "In God, whose word I praise - in God I trust and am not afraid.  What can mere mortals do to me?  Psalm 56:4

It was a happy occasion today when 80 some Democrats joined the Republicans in the House

to vote down  raising the debt ceiling.  Finally people are getting the idea.  We don't spend, spend, spend in the real world when we are broke.  Why should the government take our money and our children's money for years to come to pay for what they want now.  And why in the world would we, a country who is hurting financially right here within our borders, want to borrow  $2 billion  dollars  from China to give to  Egypt's new government???
