God Bless America

I'm racing against the clock again tonight.  Trying to get this posted before midnight. I ran into trouble on the layout I had intended to put here, because  I really need to learn how to make text on a path. Not sure when I'll have time to work on it again.  I actually have a tutorial that looks very easy, but for some reason it doesn't seem to want to work for me.  That's me and technology...not compatible.

Anyway, I took this picture one sunny afternoon in January. I loved the way the sun streamed across the floor to me, as if it were inviting me out to play. But I knew better. It may have looked warm out there, but it was much warmer inside.  We are so very blessed.  God bless America.

Family Time with Wall-E

It was a tradition in our home, while John was growing up, to go to the movies on Friday night.  Of course, that didn't start until he was able to sit through a show. I remember the first time I took him, I  had to walk out with him crying.  Even though that was 1n 1982 and the theater is now gone,  I can still see the hallway to the restroom and the man standing there by the men's room and the crying little one in my arms.  I guess you could say it was traumatic to leave such an impression. Thankfully, It was early enough that they gave us tickets for another time.

TV screens are so much bigger now than they were at that time and staying home can be much more comfortable sometimes. John, Beth and Caleb enjoyed this movie, Wall- E, on their own television.

As an old grandmother several states away from our youngest grandchildren, I had no idea what it was about.  But, when I googled the name, I came up with lots of images to brighten up the layout.

1982 was much different than today...the main thing being, we had a wonderful president.  He was elected by a wide margin after the preceding president, Jimmy Carter, had ruined the economy with his 'progressive' agenda.  We are up against the same thing this year.  I pray that the present 'progressive' smooth talker is soundly trounced in the election.

It is more and more  difficult to use that word 'progressive'.  That is the word the left prefers, but it has grown into something even worse...a lot worse.

God save us.

Super States Elections Tomorrow VOTE

Caleb is some boy. He was rocking out. I just caught the sweet pictures, but there was some hard rockin' goin' on here.

I was blessed today be receiving not only the video these were taken from, but several stills as well.  It was a good day!   

It's also been a very busy day.  Lots is happening these days.  I'm trying to catch up on my work around the house.   Isn't that interesting?  :)   I caught up once again with my email.  Worked out at Curves for nearly an hour, washed several loads of clothes, changed the bed and made shish kabobs for dinner.

Now that I've bored you silly, I'll change the subject to something I found in my email today.  It is a quote from Abraham Lincoln that should be a part of us if we know our history, which too many of us do not these days.  Read it and vote tomorrow.

Leap Year Day

Out in Colorado, Leap Year Day was sunny and beautiful.  Simple things, like Caleb pushing his buggy around the patio, make sweet memories.

I'm hoping and praying that this administration will be only bad memories by this time next year.
Surely everyone has heard of the female college student at Georgetown University. Yes, the one who  pays at least $40,000 a year to go to the university, but is crying to congress that it is too much of a hardship for her to afford contraceptives.  I have  a few suggestions for her:

1. Choose a cheaper school.
2. Choose a public university that is not church related.
2. Shop around for contraceptives.  Try Walmart where they are very cheap.
3. Or best: Study more, Party less.

Certainly one bright enough to go to Georgetown would realize that  her school is a Catholic University and thus does not condone contraceptives in the first place.

Girl Fun

There weren't many of us in town, and Jill was working. But Teresa was back.and we hadn't seen her for a long time.  We were missing her. And since she had been missing us as well, she had us over for lunch and a gab fest.  Tomorrow I may blog another layout to go with this one. We were practicing our pose and trying to get two to put together so that we would all be in it.

We were in luck.  Layton called that he was coming home and was bringing friends.  So we had a photographer who couldn't really say, 'no'.  Sorry Layton, we really needed your friend's help.

Ohio will be voting next Tuesday. It is time for us to study the ballot, it we haven't before now.

Cupcake Madness

On February 17 I posted a layout of the triplets with yummy cupcakes for Valentine's  Day. But there was a day earlier in February when they  had these cupcakes as well.  You might remember the  5th  of the month as Superbowl Sunday; but the triplets remember it for a time of feasting with great cupcakes.  They were super fans of those little cakes. Yes, those sweets had tiny plastic footballs on top, but they weren't much good... they were not edible. 

I left home at 9:15 this morning and returned about 9:30 PM. It's been a busy day and I'm very tired. Am giving up without warning you that our president  and his crew admit they think  the price of oil should be higher, so that we will wean ourselves from using that type of energy.  Oh yes.  That is correct. I say Drill Baby Drill.

APS, 5 Year Old, and Computers

A person can get what seems like an endless supply of APS for an iPhone.  Ron used one to take this right hand picture of me at the computer.  It does a pencil drawing. He took another picture, the regular way, so I could complete this layout.

I've been doing a lot of artwork, as you probably know, on my computer. But I also receive and send LOTS of email. And I try to keep myself informed of all that is going on in the world of politics and search sites daily to fill my head with more than I really want to know. Each day I usually find something uplifting to think about.  That keeps me from tearing out all my hair over the state of affairs.

Today I saw a five year old boy explain the economy. I want to share, because he is soooo cute and RIGHT as well.  Go here to see him.

Looks like even though I had resolved to put a layout on the blog each night, I'm not sure what will happen the next couple of days.  It seems that my computer is behaving so badly that my husband has deemed it necessary to wipe the disk clean and reinstall it.  He says everything is backed up well. Well, I hope he is correct.  I should have much more faith in him. After all he has worked in computers since the 60's...yes, before there was anything like we have today. He was in on the 'ground floor'.  He is an expert...but I  suppose at times I am a bit of a pessimist, especially when it comes to something I just don't understand.   

We'll see. Keep checking back to see if I'm online again.  And in the meantime...don't forget to pray for our country. And while you are at it, ask God if there is something in particular He would like for you to do.
