John has an ability not only to fix things, but to build them as well. He gets that from his father and now Oliver has picked up on it as well. I love to see what they do together. This layout just shows Oliver in his new work goggles.

These pictures were taken March 5 when the weather was good for being outdoors. Today however, it is much colder. The temperatures are in the low 40's and the wind is very chilling. The real feel is in the 20's. We got out for church and lunch, but came home where we are staying indoors and entertaining ourselves. I am at the computer and he is watching TV. We have to remember that we do live in Ohio.

This is our grandson Brandon and his sweetheart he calls his Baby Girl. Her name is Hannah and she is very sweet. They've been in different states since he got his new job in TX. It is good to see them together.

This is a recent picture of our daughter, Chelle, who is celebrating her 27th anniversary with Greg. I look at her and think, there is no way they have been married that long. But I vividly remember when these two college grads were married in 1994. Happy Anniversary Chelle and Greg.

Phyllis is getting ready to leave. She is getting rid of things she can do without and packing. It is a big job. But she is also taking time to be with us, her friends. We love you Phyllis.

Face Time is such a blessing, especially when one's grandchildren live hundreds of miles away. The Pandemic is a problem as well. some who live closer still must keep their distance and Face Time is the best solution we have. I remember when I was in college out of state, talking to my parents on the telephone was a rare occasion because of the cost of long distance phoning. I remember missionaries going away to some far away land and not being able to converse with their extended families for perhaps years. Now with our cell phones and computers, we can talk to and see our friends and family on the other side of the world for nothing...except the price of the device. Hmmm. I hadn't thought of that. It still isn't free! But it is much more possible. And of course seeing those we love is the best part. Often as we talk to our loved ones out of state, I take screen shots so that I can remember. This layout today is an example of that.

You've seen the snowmen built on March 16. This is the big snow on the 14th that made those snowmen possible. A whole book could be made about that storm. It certainly made life a little more interesting after being locked up through a year of pandemic.

It's good to see our grandchildren learning at home. Julia loves to do so much. Tonight we were watching her play her guritar. She doesn't just strum away. She is learning her chords. This layout I have tonight is from January when she was making cookies, another thing she enjoys.

It was a big snow and the kids were excited. They played for hours out in that cold and they had a great time. It was nice to have Daddy at home to play as well. The blizzard started on March 14. They built the snowmen on March 16. I got a picture today showing the snow has begun to melt.

This is the first of several layouts for Julia's birthday which was yesterday the 16th. This is what you get when a 5 year old pretty much plans her own birthday. It lasts all day and involves everything. This page starts at the beginning with breakfast. That was yesterday and today is St Patrick's Day. I wanted to use the title, but didn't have any hope of having anything lucky happen to us during this pandemic...but it turned out we did, so here it is.

Tuesday, March 16, 2021

Well it is St Patrick's Day, or will be when the clock strikes midnight. Chelle packed up a box to mail to Ashley at college to celebrate the Irish holiday. Ashley received the package a bit early and absolutley loved it. I haven't found out what all was in the box, but the box itself was a great gift. Her mom used her artistic talents and put lots of time and love into decorating that box for her. It was a big hit.

I had not heard of a Voodoo Lily, but that is no surprise. It doesn't matter how long you live, you can't know it all. Not that I ever considered that an option. Every brain is limited, some more than others. Speaking from experience, some even shrink with age. Now, our grandchildren in Colorado have not only heard about a Voodoo Lily, but they have seen one in person. There were many new things to see at the Botanic Garden at Spring Creek.

Sunday, March 14, 2021

Thankfully, I still have plenty of pictures. However, I have failed to do a layout for this post yesterday and today. There is one for ST Patrick's Day that must wait. I don't want to spoil any surprises! Hopefully, tomorrow you will see a layout about the big snow in Colorado here.

I really like this pose of Ava with her new suitcase. Looks like she is ready to travel.

Thursday, March 11, 2021

I haven't finished this layout, but I'sm anxious to post it to get an answer to my question. This past December 27 was the very first time I ever saw a 'red' sky to the south of us. It looked just like a sunset, but it was in the south instead of in the west. The only red skies I'm familiar with are the sunrises and sunsets. I hope that someone sees this and is able to tell me why it would be red in the south? All pictures were taken at 7:37 PM December 27, 2020.

When I was Oliver's age, people used to say "A penny for your thoughts" whenever we saw a picture like this one. We would wonder what he was thinking. I am doing that now. However, a penny doesn't go very far these days (not that anyone even has one), surely not far enough to get a person to tell what was going on in his mind. On the other hand, there are plenty of people who are willing to blast out what they are thinking constantly, whether or not anyone wants to know. I don't think Oliver is that type of person. He is very thoughtful, in more ways than one. He thinks deeply and he is very caring. He is empathetic. Okay, I'm still wondering what he was thinking here. I guess I'll just have to ask him.

Brittanie and Ava love their cat Zeusy, but they had to give it up. However, a relative is taking care of Zeusy and they get to visit and cuddle.

March 2 was Read Across America Day. It was also Dr Seuss Day. In honor of that day, I wanted to do layouts of the kids reading. I did one today of Oliver reading to his class online. I'm hoping to have pictures of Caleb reading soon, since he is an avid reader and that would be a common way to see him. I like the fact that he often reads in bed. I'm not opposed to seeing them read Dr. Seuss as well.

Last month John's family took a mini vacation for relaxing recreation, which was very welcome as opposed to pandemic confinement. It was a beautiful location at Keystone Colorado Resort and the weather was perfect for the season. It was great for both skiing and ice skating.

Saturday, March 6, 2021

So it took me 68 days to get this on the blog. At least it is this last Christmas, not 10 years or so ago. I wish I were quicker with my scrapbooking, more like I used to be, but that just isn't going to happen. Life has slowed for me with not only age, but also the pandemic. I have an excuse...yes, but it still bothers me to be behind this much. However, anytime I get to bring back good memories, it is a good day.

Thursday, March 4, 2021

In this Pandemic, I was still able to satisfy my need for jigsaw puzzles in the winter months after Christmas. I enjoyed doing the two puzzles pictured here and then I eagerly occupied more time making this layout about the peace it gave me.

Wednesday, March 3, 2021

All our snow is melted now and the high was in the 50's today. But then it is March in OH. No telling what the weather will be like from one day to another. I think the high is to be 34 tomorrow. That could mean snow, but no matter what tomorrow brings, we will most likely have more snow before the month is gone. I was glad to get a few pictures of the snow outing Brittanie and Ava had right after Christmas. I love the bright smiles.

Tuesday, March 2, 2021

I know it is March, but I'm just getting to the Christmas pictures. I love this one today and I love this little granddaughter. I hope you appreciate her imagination and good heart..

Monday, March 1, 2021

I love the fact that our son and his wife are such great parents. They make sure our grandchildren experience so many good things. In this first picture, Julia and Oliver were helping decorate Christmas cookies. In the second, John and Oliver were making a jelly bean dispenser. Oliver is learning to use a drill.
