Use Your Head

As Chelle said this morning, Aussie sings his own song. I'm happy he has a mind of his own. I don't want him to feel like he must conform with this world.  But being an old fogey, some things seem too far out for me. I just need to understand the reasons, I suppose.  lol

As I ponder this thought, I remember all the times throughout the history of this world where people got into horrendous trouble by 'following the crowd'. It is as true today as it has always been. We certainly need to use our heads and not allow ourselves to be drug around by our necks because we want to be 'liked' or whatever.  I encourage you to THINK. And if your hair is crazy long and you are a boy...so what? People may mistake you for a girl. That would be understandable. I might not like it, but it isn't going to hurt you or others...at least I doubt it will. So again I say.  Think for yourself...just be sure you know the facts.

Play Mate

Maggie loves people. She needs a constant play mate. I'm a little too busy to suffice.  Because of that, she is always needing a play mate, one who will give her undivided attention.  

This evening a friend of Al and LInda (and now our friend) Connie came over for a boat ride. She played with Maggie for quite a while. Thinking  she would be worn out once Connie had to leave, I was quite surprised when she continued needing attention.  She is hair ball of energy.

Expecting

John and Beth are expecting a new addition to the family in December.

                                   They recently found out that Caleb will be getting a brother.


I love the second picture on the first layout. What a sweet expression Caleb has. I wish I could give him a big squeeze  right now.  FaceTime is a wonderful thing, but it doesn't do much for the sense of touch.

Defund It Now!

This is our granddaughter, Leah with one of her long time friends at the beach. I love the colors.

Don't have much time this evening, but I do want to make a short statement in support of defunding Obamacare. If you don't know your health care will cost more with his plan and that you will have less freedom of choice in many areas, and that the government will be administrating this about as well as it does the post office, then you have fallen  prey of big media.

I congratulate all of you who do know the specifics, for you have been studious. The main thing to do right now is to urge your senators to defund this government health care system, before it defunds out nation.

Fathers and Sons

Like father, like son... John and Caleb do yard work, as Caleb emulates his daddy.

The fruit doesn't fall far from the tree.  You can see him watching John and then trying to do the  same thing.

This is not an isolated example. There are exceptions. Boys need fathers in their lives.  One of the reasons boys are having so much trouble 'finding themselves' today is there is no father figure in the house.

Blackbird Theater

Out triplet grandchildren, who turned eleven this past Saturday, celebrated that big day with us while they were here in Ohio over the Independence Day holiday.  On Tuesday they celebrated again with a big trampoline party. I haven't seen pictures yet, but hope  to see them soon. Their mom is a little too busy to upload pictures now, since her mother in law and father in law are visiting from Florida now. 

Greg, on your left, is the triplets father and my son-in-law. He and Wes Driver graduated from Lipscomb University  years ago and now run the theater company there. If you ever get to Nashville, check to see if they have a play running while you are in town.  It would be well worth your time. They produce plays that are a step above all others...they are more high brow and with Greg and Wes together, the productions are big hits and get great reviews.

I Can Fly

Of course he can fly. Watch him.

It is wonderful to have a vivid imagination, but sometimes we just have to get real. We have to grow up and face reality.  We can't fly, not on our  own anyway. We can't get something for nothing...not in real life anyway.  Yes, the president can cast out our Constitution and bypass laws he doesn't like. He can hand out gifts left and right. But that doesn't come without a price. We'll all pay for it in the end. If not by sweat and blood, it will be in loss of freedom.
