Living so far away from all my grandchildren is not my idea of  grandmotherhood. I thought we were supposed to spoil them. I'm not close enough to take them through the stores and observe what they seem to like. But through pictures, I sometimes get some good clues.  For example, these pictures show Caleb with the first animal he liked at Build a Bear. He decided later that he wanted a bear...and it was really cute.  But when I see that cute face with this doggie, it hits my heart strings. I love dogs and it is a darling dog. I'll just have to remember that when I get a chance to take Caleb to Build a Bear. I do know that I must also be prepared to like any other 'pet' he might choose instead.

As usual, I'm not up to date with my pictures.  While today is Valentine's Day and I wish you all a very happy day, I do not yet have any Valentine pictures. I will most likely have one or more before the day is up, but then I won't have time to make a layout.  Maybe tomorrow will be all hearts and flowers.

I'm wishing you love.

    1 John 4:8
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

On Ice

While John, Beth, Caleb and Rado were on the ice, neighbors came out as well. Caleb enjoyed being pulled around the ice on  a  sled with a little friend.

While the little children are having a great time, many of our young of voting age (and others who should know better) are being pulled around by their noses, so to speak. They are being tempted by the smell of money...money that doesn't  exist here and must be borrowed from China at the tune of $50,000 a second.  As we borrow, the dollar's value is falling, prices are going up at a rapid pace. Those who once could bring money into the coffers with thriving businesses are having their hands tied by higher prices for supplies and fuel and insurance for their businesses, and taxes to cover employees and illegal immigrants who just show up on our welfare rolls. Now the president  wants to raise the minimum wage.  Yes, it would be nice if everyone could make enough to have a new car in the garage besides their cell phones and huge plasma TVs, but it isn't possible without bankrupting the whole nation. Businesses that can not make a profit can not continue to exist. We are taxing them out of business. Not only do we lose their products and have to buy from other countries, we lose jobs.

It boggles my mind how we can be so blind sighted as to not understand what is happening here.

The only peace I get these days is from the source of love and peace, the living God, and  in the knowledge of His word. For example: "For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them, but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm." Proverbs 1:32-33

Boy, Dog and Snow

Great combination: Boy, Dog, Snow...That's hard to beat.

Tonight I"m thinking of another subject that would be hard to beat: A Christian doctor who had what it takes to be president of the United States.  Dr. Benjamin Carson.

He was  on Hannity's  TV show on Fox News this week.  This is a portion of the interview: "Seizing upon what many of Carson’s supporters are probably wondering, Hannity asked him if he would ever consider running for president. The doctor did not it rule out, but said God would have to 'grab him by the collar and make him do it.'”

It seems fit to me for us to pray that God does just that.

Draft This Man

It is winter in Colorado.  The marsh in John and Beth's neighborhood is frozen. Caleb needed to learn to navigate on it. After a little practice with his dad, he did it.  Now he has sure feet on the ice.  I guess the skates will come next. I can envision a game of ice hockey out there in the future.

I am also envisioning a new direction for our country, if we can get Dr. Benjamin Carson to run for president. Not sure how we would go about this. He is an accomplished brain surgeon.

You will do yourself a favor, if you will take a little time to hear his speech at the National Prayer Breakfast this year. He first tells about his childhood, the direction he was heading and the path of correction he took which got him into and through medical school. You will be impressed. I was.

Dr. Benjamin Carson of John Hopkins made quite a hit with his speech.  You have probably heard about it. You will be duly impressed by his knowledge and ability to say what he believes without noticeable fear.   Watch it here .

A Crafter's Brain

It takes a certain kind of person to be a craftsman...and Chelle is that person. She is constantly doing something for the triplets or a class at school, for friends and she doesn't neglect herself either.  She has knitted hats and scarves and mittens. She never uses a pattern. It's beyond my comprehension. No wonder she doesn't have time to sleep.

All this activity prevents her from sitting in front of the TV day to day like the habit of some is.

Actually from what I've been told more and more people are turning off the TV more often.

I rarely watch it myself, except for this time of year . We are now watching American Idol...two days a week and Downton Abbey.   However there is a show I'm looking forward to seeing. It is The Bible, scheduled to begin on Sunday night the third of March.  It is an epic 5-week mini-series on the History channel.  See the official trailer here .

Caleb and Friend

It is good to see Caleb and his friend playing so well together.  I hope he has a life time of good relationships with others.

I also like his Buzz Lightyear  outfit.

Sorry. This is it for tonight. I'm checking out...the mattress.

Deja Vu

In case you are wondering,  I don't drink nor do I do drugs. I am quite boring, I suppose.  Anyway, I just noticed that I put the same layout here on Monday and Wednesday. I did feel a little deja vu when writing it the second time .

Tonight, I'll have two new ones...one for Friday and the other  for Wednesday, plus two more to finish out the story.  All are pictures taken at Build a Bear.

After the animal is complete, the new owner 'bathes' it. You have to use your imagination here...pretend water, etc.
The next step is to choose clothing for the 'bear' .  There are hundreds of choices.Caleb dressed his as Buzz Lightyear.

The last step before visiting the cash register is to fill out the forms for a birth certificate.

Mission Accomplished. He is ready, with a smile on his face, to take his new friend home.
