Easter Sunday 2017

This is not the traditional type page I have made in the past. I like it because it is unique. I love the smiles.  Perhaps later, I'll say more about it, but now, I'm having a very hard time just keeping one eye open.

Please pray for our leaders to have wisdom to lead us through this rough patch of history.

Good night all. Christ is risen. He is in charge.

Music City Speed Solving 2017

Happy to show a group from Aussie's last World Wide Rubik's Cube competition...the second one he has planned  himself. Handling these cubes is a super talent, but not his only one.  This was held in his area and at his school. It went well and as you will see if you read the layout, two world records were broken there that weekend.

Today is Easter. The word, Easter, was originally a Saxon word (Eostre), denoting a goddess of the Saxons, in honour of whom sacrifices were offered about the time of the Passover. Hence the name came to be given to the festival of the Resurrection of Christ, which occured at the time of the Passover. The Easter bunny has nothing to do with the resurrection. Historically, we have been mixing the two celebrations. Whatever our activities are on the day Easter, we need to make it a point to teach the reason WE are celebrating is the resurrection of the Christ. In my opinion, I see no harm in eating chocolate and hiding eggs. Just don't confuse that with the resurrection, which is the real reason we are celebrating today and always.

I have some good Easter pictures. Hopefully, there will be at least one nice layout by tomorrow night

Trampoline FUN

As you might suspect, Julia is anxious to join in with the boys' activities. She won't be left out and is full speed ahead trying to catch up. Of course the trampoline was too exciting and she couldn't wait to 'jump in'.  However, not all one year olds get this chance, but she took hold of the opportunity and 'went to town' on it. Sideline: No, the trampoline does not travel. I've used an old person's idiom to mean she really went for it, joined in and had a blast.

Tomorrow is Easter. We are not ready for it here at our house. Ron has been building a boat dock and I was suffering from a bad attack of athletic pain and weakness until yesterday. I got progressively better all day. Today, I have been fine. And why is it, that after several weeks of being practically incapacitated,  did I get better? We'll have to give credit to our creator God because the ladies in our Bible class put me on their prayer list and prayed for me in class Thursday. Thank you, Lord!

Happy Easter to all.

Tiger and Tigger Too...

Tying things together...This layout features Tigger and of course Ashley who was having lunch at the Crystal Palace, the same as my Tuesday's layout with her brother Aussie. Or course the day before I posted that layout was Monday and it featured a layout of Ashley with a tiger statue. So, here we go with another tiger, Tigger by name.

I apologize, but I must go to sleep now. I have an early morning obligation and that is not the best time of day for me.

Hopefully we will wake in the morning safe in our beds with no more threats from North Korea. It is a sad situation for its people and for all those their government dislikes. I am praying for God's protection. But overall, I pray for His will to be done.

Tigers a Life Long Love

If you've seen this blog for a while, you probably already know that Ashley LOVES Tigers. ( I would venture to tell you how many she owns, but I know I'd get it wrong. They multiply at her house so quickly. ) So you won't be surprised to see her here at Universal Studios with a TIGER.

Perhaps she will want to frame this layout for her wall. Actually that might make a good gift sometime...framed pictures of her with her love... or maybe not... and I won't try to find a tiger she doesn't have.  I pretty much know what teenagers want for gifts these days.

Tigger and Aussie

Disney World is home to lots of photo ops and this one amused me. These pictures were taken at the Crystal Palace. Tigger approached the table wanting to pose with everyone. These two pictures are one result. Others at the table had photo shots taken as well.

Much could be said about these pictures, but I don't know what? I really like to have all the info before posting, but it doesn't always work out that way. In this case, I don't know much at all...but I have piles of files...lots of photos. Wish I could put them all into layouts, but I doubt I'll live long enough. That is not an announcement of anything, just a comment of the number of pics and the amount of time it now takes me to get anything done.

Speaking about not being able to accomplish much in a day, our oldest daughter, Kim is visiting and helping us out around the house and yard. She is quite a worker and VERY helpful, doing many tasks we just haven't been able to finish over the last 6 months or so.

We are thankful for all our children...and proud of all six. God has blessed us well.

And I don't want to neglect to say how much we love our grandchildren as well...all 10 or them.

Harry Potter at Universal

Universal provides some pretty special sights. Here are Mason, Blade and Ashley on the London Waterfront with an English telephone booth (pre cell phone, I presume) and a Knight bus. In that area is the Harry Potter Wizarding World.

At first I was drawing a blank as to how to decorate this layout to fit a Harry Potter theme, then it came to me...many Halloween items fit the bill. So here it is.

Just want to add the note that this wizard stuff is antithetical to Christianity. At one time I would have just chalked it up to pretense and been all right with it. However, with all the anti-Christian sentiment the world over today,  I have to stand in my faith and denounce wizardry.

God is in control, so wizards, etc. only have as much freedom to act as they are permitted. And in the end GOD WINS.  At that time, I certainly want to be found faithful. I pray this nation will turn from evil and pursue righteousness.  Because only then will love win.
