One Happiness

We missed getting a picture for Valentines this year, so we made up for it at a wedding photo booth this past weekend.

It certainly makes life worth living knowing that one is loved. I am so glad to have been married as long as we have. It will be 47 years in August.

But even if I didn't have Ron, I would still know I am loved...for Jesus loves me...and He loves you as well. Yes, He does.

The last few days I've been talking about choices we make. I have said that I choose love, joy, peace, patience and kindness.

Tonight, I will choose goodness as well. I will go without a dollar before I take a dishonest one. I will be overlooked before I will boast. (Lord, help me on this...not that I have anything to boast about...)
I will confess before  I will accuse. I choose goodness.

Oogi

Caleb got a couple of Oogis from his Gramma for Easter. It is quite amusing what a child will enjoy. The toy store I like to deal with is out west and can easily deliver quickly to Caleb's house. On top of being handy that way, they handle some pretty nice toys that can be very good developmental  tools, hence their name: Fat Brain.

We've thought about  some of life's choices the last few days. First we talked about love, then joy, then peace and patience. Tonight I choose  kindness.

I will be kind to the poor, for they are a lone. Kind to the rich, for they are afraid.  And kind to the unkind, for such is how God has treated me.

I choose to be KIND.

Super Cowboy

If you've  been around long enough, you may remember the cute layout that featured Caleb and the chicken he caught. At the time, I thought it was a once in a lifetime thing...catching a chicken... something especially difficult for a little fellow. But here he is again, with another rooster. I can't tell if it is the same one. Is he not afraid of Caleb? Have they become friends? I've heard of pet chickens, but this is pretty strange looking to me. I do love it though. Of course the Superman shirt and the cowboy hat add to the interest.  Oh, and that sweet face reminds me of pictures I've seen of my mother as a small child.  How very cute he is, says his gramma (Me).

I'm still adding to my list of Life's choices. I've covered love, joy and peace. Tonight I'll speak of patience. I will overlook the inconveniences of the world. Instead of cursing the one who takes my place, I'll invite him to do so. Rather than complain that the wait is too long, I will thank God for a moment to pray.  Instead of clinching my fist at new assignments, I will face them with joy and courage. I choose patience.

Maggie's First Birthday

I've been looking forward to this for some time. Whereas many people celebrate their pet's birthdays, we have never done that before. We just never thought about it, let alone had time to do it. Not that this was a really big deal. It wasn't, but we did take her to Dairy Queen to get a  doggy cup... a cup of vanilla custard with a doggy bone on top.  The only addition I had to make was one candle. (It was her first birthday.) Since I couldn't really do that while holding the dog away from her treat and our blizzards, I added it to the picture once I got on the computer. That worked fairly well, and I am congratulating myself on that accomplishment.

Yes, she did enjoy it.

Since having trouble with my computer, I've neglected to finish my list of important choices we make in this life. I had mentioned the choices to love and to be joyous.

Tonight is about peace. I choose to be at peace.  The peace I choose has nothing to do with all the conflicts that have gone on since the beginning of time and will continue until the end of time.  In spite of that lack of peace in the world, I will live in peace...at peace with my Lord and Savior. I choose to live the life of one forgiven of my sins, with the internal peace that brings. I am in a good relationship with God, not because of what I've done, but because Jesus died for my sins. Praise God.

Easter Sunday

They are good about taking family pictures at the church our youngest daughter and her family attend. I was really glad to get this one for a layout.

It's been a very busy day...so what is new?  Anyway, we had a wedding and reception this afternoon.
Then this evening we went to church for Arise...It is geared toward the younger set, but of course the church door were open, so my Ron had to go and of course I was doubly encouraged to go as well.

I didn't take any photos tonight, but was very impressed with a few of those in the program. One is my girlfriend, Sali's husband who played the drums. And then there was Julie Black. I've heard her sing in a group quite a bit, but had never heard her sing alone before. She was excellent.

I do have pictures taken in a photo booth at the wedding. We had a choice of  our 'normal' pics or silly ones. There were many different hats, jewelry,  wigs, ect.   Ws had not noticed those things when we first lines up there for our photo shoot.
I'll try to get those pictures here  soon.

May our Lord cover us with His wings as those around us strike

Pleasant Surprise

I'm back! Ron was able to fix my computer, at least for the time being. I love that  guy. I'm so happy to be back online. Happier still to be able to make layouts from the wonderful pictures our 'children' send us.

I am so very  proud of the sweet and gentle way  Caleb treats his baby brother, Oliver. These pictures show how he swang him at the playground.

I thought I was pretty good with grammar, but this spell check does not like the word swang here. I don't know what to put in its place, so I'm leaving it. It's a good thing my English teachers have all passed on or at least don't know to check this blog.

Unplanned Absence

Each day, I miss blogging, makes me more nervous.   Not that it is that important, but I just feel like it is my job. No, I don't get paid.  I shouldn't feel like it is an obligation, but I guess that is it.

We were having trouble with my computer. It is the story of the spinning disk, which spun and spun and spun. After much ado (running a clean up program and rebuilding indexes) my husband is now running some program which could keep us from  having to buy a new hard drive...while thinking  the hard drive purchase is inevitable. Then it's off to buy new.

I'm afraid it will be a few more days of feeling like I'm shirking my duty. But I shall be back, if the Lord is willing.
