Instagrams

I love instagrams.  Don't have a phone yet to make them myself, but I'm seeing them all the time on Face Book.  This one  is of our son-in-law Greg and our grandson, Mason.  The vintage appearance is fantastic, and I've made it look even older .  It looks like it could be a still clip from a really old Tough Guy  movie.

It is now Day 10 in our 40 days of prayer for the election. God promised to listen to our prayers.
I feel like we have to convince him that most in the nation are God fearing people and want to live moral lives.

This little prayer is going around the net in the first tense. I've rewritten it to be prayed together:
"Hi Lord, it's us. Things are getting bad here, gas prices are too high, too few jobs, too much disrespect and violence, food and heating costs too high. We know some have taken You out of our schools, government and even Christmas.  But Lord we're asking you to come back and re bless America, we really need You.  thanks Lord, We love You! "

The Lord says when 2 or more are gathered in My name, there I will be also; therefore our joint effort will have God in the midst of us listening.

Hello There

I had been trying to get a picture of this bird's curiosity for some time. I finally got it!
I'm not sure what he was really doing. The window is one that  only reflects his own image during the day time. Either he was quite intrigued by himself, or he was getting really close to another bird.  However, I choose to believe the story I put on my layout.

We are now in day 9 of the 40 days of prayer leading up to the election.

The polls scare me to death.  Certainly we are not that stupid.  However, when I hear the lies the left are saying over and over daily in the press and over the media, I can understand how the uneducated could fall for it.

I truly believe that our God can bring this election around to save freedom of religion for our nation. I believe he will save us, if we want it badly enough to change our lives for the better, in love for God and our fellow man.

Following is a prayer that is circling the inter net. It has been attributed to Billy Graham .  Even though he is not the author, it is still a good prayer and I recommend that you read it and take it to heart.

THIS GODLY MAN SURE HAS A GOOD VIEW OF WHAT'S HAPPENING TO OUR COUNTRY!

'Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable... We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from sin and Set us free. Amen!'
With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we once again can be called 'One nation under God!'

Welding Rebar

Ron was out there much of the day working on that seawall.  His friend, Tom came over to help as well. It is wise have someone who knows what he is doing with a welder to do that type of work.

Now, I believe it is time to build the molds for the cement. Will it ever end?  Stay tuned. We're sure  to find out in a few days.

It is now Day 8 of prayer for the best outcome of the election in November.   I'm posting a short comparison of the two candidates for President. Please read this chart before you decide, if you haven't already.

You can click on this to see it better.

May the true God in heaven help you with the scriptures  so that you will be able to discern which candidates are the more likely to follow his word

Late in September Ashley was in Totally 80's Caberet.  She and her friend Emily decided they really like the 80's.  Later you'll see more pictures from the musical.

In my opinion, the 80's were not the best of times, but they were way better than now. Our nation is in deep need of repentance and prayer.

We are now in day 7 of our nation's 40 days of prayer prior to the election.

The email I received earlier this year makes a good point for us now.  Please read and consider it:

I have a prayer request. There's a lady I've known forever. She's very sick. On top of that, she's being abused by those to whom she has given everything..... Lies about her abound, and seem to come from all sides. Just breaks my heart. Seems there's nothing I can do alone but maybe, if we join in and lift her up together, we can heal her. She's well over 230 years old, but way too young to die. Her name is ' America '... And I love her and have always been proud of her. Please take time to say a prayer for her - even if it is a short, simple prayer like, “Lord, please heal our land. Amen.” Thanks!

If you heard the debate last night, you know the vast difference in the candidates.  Please pray that God will give a victory to the one who would further His kingdom and not limit our freedom of religion.

Doing the Impossible

I got quite a scare today. I had a few minutes and thought I'd run down to get another picture of Ron at work. I figured I'd find him digging and shoveling sand behind the iron sheets. However, when I got down there I couldn't find him anywhere. It was quiet with only the sound of water washing gently  up to shore. But then something caught my eye. In the lower picture you can see some scaffolding over the water. Today, that had turned on it's end and slid into the lake. I was frightened.  I knew the water was not deep enough to drown Ron, a good swimmer.  However, he could have hit his head on a rock or something. As I ran back to the house to the telephone, I imagined terrible things. When I grabbed the phone, I instinct fully called Ron's cell phone.  He was in the garage!  I was never more thankful to reach him quickly.

The job he is doing seems so over whelming to me; but he is determined....determined to do the impossible.

It would also be impossible for  me to find peace at this time in our country's history, if it were not for my trust in the living God.

Today is Day 6 in our 40 days of prayer before the election.

Early voting started today. In many parts of the country, people can vote without proving their  identity or citizenship. Now remember, one can not do much less important things without proof of their identity. For example, one can't fly on an airline, drive a car...and I could go on, without valid identification.  However, it is called voter suppression if they are asked for their identification.  Anyone of sound mind should realize that is really grasping for excuses.

I pray that God will be an integral part of this election and bring to light all instances of fraud.   I pray that all Christians will consider it important to get to the polls and cast their votes for the man who supports the morals found in the Holy Word.

I hope you found time to watch the debate tonight. It was interesting to hear what each one had to say, but quite disconcerting that the president kept insisting something about Mitt Romney's intentions that was utterly untrue.  And I love Mitt's little quip.  It went something like this: As a father to five boys I'm used to having them try to tell me something over and over hoping I'll believe it.

Sleep well.  Trust God.

Man at Work

It is still hard for me to believe Ron is doing this big job at his age.  He sure loves his projects, but this is really a big deal.

Today part of the bank collapsed when it rained. I am praying it doesn't ever collapse under him.

This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.  It is also  Day 5  of our 40 days of prayer preceding the election.

We should claim this promise in scripture :

II Chronicles 7:14.  "If my people, which are called by my name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face and turn form their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sons  the heal their land."

Monumental Tasks

Years ago my sedentary husband set out to rebuild all the railroad tie walls around our last house. It was monumental and took all summer. He bought so many interlocking blocks that they sent a representative from the company out to check with him and give him advise. All the walls were very well done in the end; but for one summer, we lived in a mud pit.

Fast forward to now, 2012, and you will find him with another task at hand.  While no where near the enormity of the last project, nevertheless overwhelming just to observe...adding the fact that now he is 70 years old.

Well at least, we are looking forward to having a new sea wall that will be attractive as well as strong.

We are now on day four of our 40 days of prayer prior to the election.

No matter for what we ask, God tells us it will be given to us.  However, there is something we must do first...that is to seek his kingdom.  Matthew 6:33 reads like this:  "But seek first  his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."  Tied in with other scriptures, this verse  gives me hope that if we seek him first, he will guide us in voting so that we get the best president and representatives for our country...those who will work well to provide a Christian atmosphere that frees us from oppression...one that does not pass laws like the one passed in California recently prohibiting Christian counselors from helping young gays leave that lifestyle and follow the word of God.

Our father in heaven, holy is your name and blessed are we to be able to read your truth in the Bible. Let us read and understand what you want us to know today and tomorrow. Give us wisdom to vote in a way that will bless this nation and thus, those around the world who look to us for an example of generous Christianity.  Amen
