Father- Son Project

This was a wood working project that turned out very well for John and Caleb. I'm hoping to get a picture of the bed they built soon. I've seen it on FaceTime, but failed to get a still copy.

Father and son activities can cement a good and lasting relationship. Developing a work ethic is so important, for youngsters, especially in today's culture where people would rather let others do the work while they play computer games. Don't get me wrong, some of the games are good for developing  and organizing one's mind; but physical labor is also good for coordinating one's muscles. A job well done, can also create a sense of well being, a sense of accomplishment. But most of all, a useful item is a fine result.

Here is Caleb polishing his eye- hand coordination by pounding nails. It is not an easy chore for a three year old, but he can receive honest praise for the accomplishment.

Praise your children when they deserve it. It builds a good self esteem.  But don't overdo it. It is never good to think too much of oneself.
