My grandfather read everything he could get his hands on, but was quite bored in the one room school he attended. The teacher didn't like him because he was the 'class clown', so each year she failed him.
He grew up and married Lillian, the beautiful girl in this picture taken in about 1918.
I could write a lot about her life in Texas, but tonight I'll shorten it: Her family was lost in the Galveston, TX flood in 1900 when she was just a baby. She was raised by a wealthy family. But they disowned her when she married my grandfather. My father was the first of her seven sons.
I know nothing of her and hope when you are able you could write it all down.
