Praying for the Election

Garden skills have been passed down from generation to
generation in Beth's family. She worked by her mother's side
 as a young girl.

Now, Caleb has learned a lot this summer by helping his
mom in her backyard garden. He planted these carrots and
now he is eating his produce.

He also dressed himself that morning.  Since they didn't have
to go away from the house, Beth let him stay in his underwear
and leg warmers.  I hope this doesn't become a trend...or has it?

We are on day 3 of our 40 days of prayer for the election.

My prayer today is inspired by Philippians 1: 9-10.
"And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and
more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able
to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless
for the day of Christ."

Father in heaven, Let us  pray for each other so that we all
grow more and more in love for our fellow man. I ask Father,
that you help us to not esteem some better than others. Help
us to not think or ourselves more highly than others. Help us
appreciate that all of us are your children and as such have
the same inalienable rights. We all need a chance to learn and
grow in freedom.  I pray also that we will study to know the
issues and that you, Father, will provide us with the wisdom
to make choices that will be for the good of our country.

As we see  countries over the world going bankrupt and not
having adequate funds, help us understand why that is
happening and how to avoid it ourselves...not only  on a
personal level but on a national level as well.

We are not alone in this pursuit of truth. Thousands of Christians
gathered Saturday on Independence Mall in Philadelphia to pray for
the future of the United States in the weeks before the upcoming
 election.
