We Were Warned

Here we are, Phyllis, Jane, Robin and I, taking a photo break during a short shopping trip.  Actually we had just walked down the way to eat breakfast at one of our favorite cozy places on Sanibel.   In the same plaza there is a shop we like called The Sporty Seahorse...yes, that is right.  Clever name, but I have no idea how they came up with it. It is loaded with an attractive assortment of gifts as well as clothing, shoes and jewelry. Wonderful place to browse a while.  And of course, it is very hard to not buy anything once you've been in there very long.

This sunny courtyard behind it must have been opened recently, because none of us remember seeing it there before.  One of the clerks noticed us taking pictures and came out to help us with a group shot.  Saved me some time photoshopping.  Guess that gave me more time for real shopping.

Most of us have felt the crunch lately and have had to tighten the grips on our wallets.  And I was cautious  not to go overboard.

We were warned by Thomas Jefferson that perpetual debt...well let me just quote him here:  "I am not among those who fear the people.  They and not the rich, are our dependence for continued freedom.  And to preserve their independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt.  We must make our election between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude."  Thomas Jefferson.

Our national debt is smothering us.  We must choose economy over servitude.

Encourage your representatives to cut spending.  It will take big cuts to reverse the rush towards total bankrupcy.
